Five Bowls of Oatmeal: The Return of Oatmeal
826michigan and the University of Michigan MFA Program in Creative Writing invite you to Five Bowls of Oatmeal: The Return of Oatmeal, a festival of one-act plays written by 826michigan's world-renowned guild of student playwrights.
Writer, philanthropist and 826 founder DAVE EGGERS will help run the proceedings and honor our students' achievements!
Our students have been diligently at work on five one-act plays, all prominently featuring oatmeal. We are certain that the results will astound, amaze, AND delight theater-lovers of all ages.
Last year's inaugural Five Bowls of Oatmeal festival featured such memorable characters as Jeff the Samurai Duck (who is also a pilot), Space Billy and his Raiders of the Lost Oreos, and a whole book-case full of forgotten tomes who long for a better life. What will this year's plays bring?
Come find out for the low, low, low, LOW price of $3 for youth 6-18 and $7 for adults! Children under 5 attend FREE. Proceeds from Five Bowls of Oatmeal: The Return of Oatmeal benefit local nonprofit 826michigan and our smorgasboard of free tutoring and creative writing programs for students 6-18 in Washtenaw County.
Feeling extra-generous? Sponsor admission for one of our stellar playwrights and his or her family for $20!
Five Bowls of Oatmeal: The Return of Oatmeal is made possible by support from The Penny Seats Theater Company, University of Michigan MFA Program in Creative Writing, Sava's Restaurant, and Kroger.
