About MARQUIS HILL:
Trumpeter and composer Marquis Hill is widely recognized as one of the preeminent voices on the instrument of his generation. With recent accolades including winning the 2012 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition and 2014 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition, and leading his own ensemble Marquis Hills' Blacktet - Marquis is a force to be reckoned with. Marquis earned music degrees from Northern Illinois University and DePaul University in Chicago, where he became a sought after voice and sound in the vibrant jazz scene. With his recent move to NYC, we here at FONT Music are excited to see what is next for this young up and coming trumpeter!
