Beginning Farmer and Rancher workshops
Northern California Regional Land Trust's Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program is facilitating six (6) workshops this winter and spring ranging in topics led by the region's experts, including Northern California Farm Credit, Agricultural Commissioner's offices, experienced farmers and ranchers, and UC Cooperative Extension offices.
The workshops are on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. $40 per workshop. You will receive a 10% discount if you register for all 6 at once. Workshops will include materials, coffee and lunch.

November 15, 2011-Identifying New Markets for Beginning Farmers & Ranchers Know your buyer, direct marketing, social networking (this workshop will be held at Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 5th Street, Orland)
December 13, 2011-Access to Farm Services Insurance, Liability & Labor Attractive nuisance? Employees? Crop insurance? OSHA requirements? (this workshop will be held at Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 5th Street, Orland)
January 17, 2012-Civics of Agriculture: What every Producer Needs to Know Ag. Commissioner panel, food safety speed dating & more (this workshop will be held at Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 5th Street, Orland)
February 14, 2012-For the Love of Conservation: Farming & Conservation = the Perfect Marriage Conservation easements, on-farm conservation practices, barriers (this workshop will be held at Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 5th Street, Orland)
March 13, 2012-Accessing Land, Farm Succession & Getting Started Farmland protection, connecting BFRs to land, tax implications (this workshop will be held at Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 5th Street, Orland)
