Piedmont Jazz Alliance: Jae Sinnett Trio
Piedmont Jazz Alliance presents An Evening of Jazz with The Jae Sinnett Trio.
You may know him as the host of R&B Chronicles, the classic soul and funk program heard Sundays on 90.5 WSNC-FM in Winston-Salem, but Jae Sinnett is also a powerhouse jazz drummer and composer.
The Jae Sinnett Trio featuring pianist Allen Farnham and bassist Terry Burrell will swing original compositions, jazz standards, and jazzed up arrangements of classic funk and soul favorites, and Jae will explain the music, making the performance an informed entertaining experience for jazz fans of all levels.

About Jae Sinnett:
Renowned musician Jae Sinnett has established himself as a versatile drummer, composer, bandleader, and broadcaster. The list of exceptional musicians he has performed and/or recorded with include Branford Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Mangione, Charlie Byrd, Cyrus Chestnut, and Frank Foster, among many others. He has 10 critically acclaimed recordings as a leader, composed more than 100 jazz works, and has scored music for five documentaries including the Emmy nominated documentary "John Biggers: Stories of Illumination," which aired on PBS. Along with leading his jazz Trio for over 15 years, he also leads the newly formed House & Sinnett, a 10 piece soul, funk, R&B ensemble. Jae is also served over 20 years at WHRV-FM in Norfolk, VA as an award nominated jazz programmer and radio host of two successful programs, "Sinnett In Session" and "The R&B Chronicles" heard Sundays on WSNC-FM in Winston-Salem
The Jae Sinnett Trio which includes Allen Farnham and Terry Burrell, first performed together in 1995 and their lengthy time together as a working unit has produced a tight-knit live performing ensemble with appearances at clubs and festivals throughout the country.
Bassist Terry Burrell is a versatile player, at home playing straightahead on the acoustic doghouse or getting lowdown funky on his electric ax.
New York based pianist Allen Farnham is a monster player, composer and arranger. His tenure with California-based Concord Records saw him working with artists like Mel Torme, Mark Murphy, and Susannah McCorkle, producing more than 50 recordings for other artists on the label, and putting together several well-received recordings under his own name. His diverse work experience also involved playing with Special EFX, Tom Harrell, and Joe Lovano, among many others.
