Wrecking Ball
A male photographer is taking a photograph of a female celebrity. She wants to be reinvented. She wants to be FOR REAL.
Wrecking Ball is a conversation between two performers and an audience about consent, authorship and putting words in other people's mouths.
Action Hero ask how far we'll go, how much we think we're in control and what it really means to say 'yes'.
Action Hero
Gemma Paintin & James Stenhouse have been working together as Action Hero since 2005. They create performance, live art and theatre about the iconography of popular culture and its use; both as a weapon and as a shared cultural memory. Exploring the epic and the banal, their work is intimate, distinctive and invigorating. They have toured across five continents and are very excited to return to Forest Fringe in Edinburgh for the 9th year running.
