Direct from Oaxaca, Mexico, dazzling singer Martha Toledo returns to La Peña's stage to present her concert Blossom of Fire. Martha Toledo is an internationally recognized performer whose commanding presence embodies the sensibility and majesty of the Oaxacan culture. The Mexican singer's soulful sound evokes the pulsing, vibrant rhythm of her country's music legacy. With modern instrumentation and arrangements, Toledo brings a social awareness to her repertoire of classic and native songs. Many of these songs carry the contemporary message of respect and dignity, particularly for Latin American women.

Guitarist José Roberto was born in Tabasco, México, José Roberto learned to play a multitude of instruments from the real masters: his pueblo's street musicians. Described as a "blazing guitar stylist," José Roberto's diverse musical education is ever-present in his performance work and numerous recordings.
