Cruising for the Sound with programming by Les Eldridge
South Sound Estuary Association (SSEA) is holding it's third annual "Cruising for the Sound", a three hour educational exploration of the South Puget Sound on board the luxury yacht, MY GIRL. All proceeds benefit SSEA's mission to establish and maintain an interpretive center for marine and estuarine life.
The Cruise will depart from Port Plaza Dock in Olympia and take participants to the various inlets of the South Puget Sound. The program, "Early Encounters on Puget Sound," will be presented by Les Eldridge, local author and maritime history nut. While cruising he will provide a detailed history of South Sound geographical features encountered, including some surprising American Civil War connections.
