The Mr. STL Theatre Award is hosted by Solid Lines Productions, a local theatre company that serves the greater St. Louis area. With a wry bent on the traditional beauty pageant events, our local male actors, designers, and other contributors to STL theatre will compete with one another in events showcasing their talents, their swimsuits, their formal wear, and more! Join us as we spend an evening determining which of our fabulous contestants from all walks of the theatre community deserves to be crowned Mr. STL Theatre! The panel of judges will feature more familiar faces from the St. Louis Theatre scene, as it will be populated by some of the most well-known and popular women that our local theatre scene has to offer. The evening will be hosted by our emcee, local actress and comedian, Donna Weinsting.
WHEN: Monday, August 31st at 6:00 PM
WHERE: The Duck Room, at Blueberry Hill (6504 Delmar Blvd., St Louis 63130)
DETAILS: The proceeds from this event will benefit the October production of Solid Lines Productions, which is focused on raising awareness of sexual violence. The production will tour through the greater St. Louis area and features local talent. The play is free to venues that wish to host it, as well as to audience members who attend, and it is followed by a talkback with the actors, director and counselors who are on-hand to support anyone affected by the play. Additionally, in-kind donations are collected at the doors of each performance for local womens' shelters and support centers, with whom Solid Lines Productions partners with the aim of connecting the community with its resources.
