DIY Your own Everyday Essentials
In a city of over 8 million people, trash is no small issue. On average, NYC residents produce over 12,000 tons of trash a day. A day! That's not cool by any standards, and we certainly can't get behind that as a sustainably minded rooftop farm.
Enter Lauren Singer. This waste free powerhouse has taken the Zero Waste lifestyle by storm, analyzing the things she uses, the things she actually doesn't, and keeping only the necessities in her life. The result? A lot less trash.
In this workshop, Lauren will teach us how to make our own toothpaste and body scrub. These are all things that we normally purchase, that come wrapped in all sorts of wasteful packaging, and honestly might not be that good for us!! She'll give you tips for leading a low waste lifestyle and leave you feeling inspired.
We're cracking down on trash this summer at the farm... want to take on the challenge in your own home?
With your new homemade products from this class, with think you'll be well on your way.
