Developed, Written and Performed by Solo Theater Performer, MARCELLA GOHEEN, THE MARIA PROJECT is a groundbreaking solo theatre performance that surprises, provokes and invites the audience to unleash their inherited secrets while telling the story of a Spanish-American family's legacy around a family secret.
THE MARIA PROJECT examines the reverberation of a family secret over three generations. Giving voice to Maria Salazar for the first time in almost 80 years, THE MARIA PROJECT tells the story of a lineage lost while reclaiming triumphantly a family history ~ leading the audience to rejoice at a true story told.
"The Maria Project tells the secret...inspiring...we must end the silence for the sake of our Mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and co-workers, for our families and communities..." Carol Arthur, Executive Director, Domestic Abuse Project, Minneapolis, MN
