Paper Collage with Jan Clem
Learn about the medium of Paper Collage, and make your own collage masterpiece to take home. Instructor Jan Clem is a member of the Northwest Collage Society.
Collage is a French word meaning "to glue." Participants in this workshop will be gluing ephemera, and a variety of papers to "paint" a picture that tells a story. There will be a discussion of materials: gel medium, brushes, a variety of found and fine papers, scissors and more. Participants will learn collage vocabulary including The Rule of Thirds, texture, value, line and learn how to use the collage material. To get over fears of creating, we will build a background, mid-ground and a foreground. Each participant will come away with a display-ready collage and an understanding of the style and fun of collage.
This workshop is offered as part of the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council's Create & Make! Series. Visit our website at www.shorelinearts.net for more information on other workshops or a season pass for the whole series.
