Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf
Ken Bacon Productions and Marin Actors' Workshop present "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
"Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" By Edward Albee Directed by Terry McGovern / Produced by Ken Bacon
"One quick drink" becomes an emotional roller coaster of hilarity and despair as it rides along the marital discord of middle-age couple, George and Martha. After a university faculty party, George and Martha invite younger couple Nick and Honey to their home for a nightcap. Liquor flows and the mood turns as George and Martha test their wits in taunting "games" of insults, humiliations, betrayals and painful confrontations that dissolve illusions created in their complicated marriage.
"Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" - considered one of the greatest plays of the late 20th Century, debuted on Broadway in 1962 and won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and five Tony Awards, including Best Play. This production is directed by Terry McGovern, who received 2010 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Best Director award for the Marin Actors' Workshop / Ken Bacon Productions presentation of "Humble Boy."
This production is mature audiences only. A dark comedy, "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" features violence, strong language and is not recommended for audiences under 14-years old.
