Question: i'm 21 is BYOB allowed? what if i'm a VIP? there is so much hard hitting action in quidditch that would go so perfect with a beer? what about hard pumpkin juice?emma watson is 21, dan is 22, rupert is 23. this is a college thing. if i'm 21+ can i drink?
Answer: It's not BYOB but alcohol will be on sale for those 21 and over (requires ID)

Question: Do the championship tickets apply for all performances and the like as well? (Save for the VIP stuff, of course)
Answer: Championship tickets only apply for the finals matches in Icahn Stadium, which will run from 5 - 8 PM and are limited to 3,500 tickets.

Question: If I buy Finals Tickets Will I still be able to come a little earlier then 5pm and walk around and see the other side events?
Answer: Sorry but Finals Tickets only apply to finals. If you wish to see other parts of the event on Sunday only, we recommend buying the Sunday pass which is only $9.99 right now.

Question: I have purchased tickets and will be staying in Manhattan for the weekend. How do i get to the island? I have no idea how to use the subways, buses or otherwise. I heard there are water taxis but I don't know where to get them or the fees associated. Do I need to reserve one? Can you help?
Answer: We will be posting information about the water taxi in the next two weeks. If you want to find out about buses etc., check out RISF's website: http://randallsisland.org/maps-directions/getting-to-randalls-island/

Question: can I camp overnight between saturday and sunday on the island?
Answer: Unfortunately not, the Parks Dept. does not permit people to camp on city property. Maybe some day when the World Cup is in the countryside somewhere....

Question: Will you be doing live streams of some of the matches for those who can't make it?
Answer: We will be doing live streams, but we recommend coming to the event if possible. There is nothing like seeing the World Cup in person.

Question: How much are finals tickets? I only see the VIP tickets that include finals, are there regular finals tickets?
Answer: Final tickets are currently called Championship tickets. We will adjust that on the welcome page to avoid future confusion. Thanks for pointing that out.

Question: Do you have a travel agency or planner to assist those who have never been to NYC and would like to coordinate overnight accommodations? How are ticket sales going?
Answer: Yes, we have a hotel package set up at a hotel close to LaGuardia airport and 10 minutes from the event site. Email Marie Sperling at marie@allaboutgrouptravel.com

Question: Is there anyone to help with overnite accommodations for those who have never been to NYC?

Question: Do players get free tickets to the finals as well as admission to the other games?
Answer: Players do get free admission to all regular games and will receive a discount code for finals tickets. We wish that we could do it for free, but use of the stadium is an expense we have to cover.

Question: Good morning, I m photographer from France, I would like to know which people I have to contact for to follow this event. Thank you for your help. Guillaume Herbaut. gherbaut7@gmail.com
Answer: Hi Guillaume, please email press@internationalquidditch.org and we will send you more information.

Question: Where will the Water Taxi be leaving Manhattan? I am staying at 77th and York, so I'm not too far from Randall's Island. I just need to know where to take the subway to.
Answer: We are about to post information about the water taxi, but as an advance, I can tell you that you are very lucky - the Water Taxi will depart from 90th and the east river. It will be $8 round trip.

Question: Will you guys stop selling tickets at any point? Is there a limit?
Answer: We will probably be selling general admission tickets up until the event, however, Championship tickets are limited and will probably sell out well-before the event. We will do our best to give people a heads up, but no guarantees.

Question: Can i upgrade to a VIP ticket later, after buying a weekend pass and Championship tix?
Answer: We can probably figure out a way to do that for you. Please email worldcup@internationalquidditch.org. Also please be aware that roughly half of the VIP tickets have already been sold, so we recommend you do this soon..

Question: Does the weekend kid's pass include admission to the Championship games?
Answer: We're sorry but the weekend kid's pass does not include admission to the championships. Because seats in the championships are limited and the event is very expensive, we unfortunately can't cut our prices there.

Question: I'm confused with the tickets. If I buy a weekend pass I have to leave at 5pm before finals? Or are finals another day?
Answer: Finals are on the same day. They are ticketed separately because they are in a stadium (right next to the main fields) that has only 5,000 seats, while the main event space for World Cup can hold up to 30,000 people. You do not HAVE to leave, but you won't really be able to see the finals unless you buy a ticket. And to clarify, that's sunday, nov 13.

Question: I paid $11.50 each for 5 tickets for Saturday's games at least two months ago - what did I pay for and what does that include? What do you mean by "reserved tickets?" Do I have to pay MORE now?!
Answer: To be honest, we're not really sure what you mean, but if you bought tickets, then you are all set. That is definitely the correct price for saturday tickets. If you have further questions, email worldcup@internationalquidditch.org

Question: If I don't want to pay that much for VIP access but still want to see everything, can I buy a Weekend Pass *and* a pass for the Championships? Or is it limited to one or the other?
Answer: Yes, you can absolutely buy both and should if you want to see everything.

Answer: Yes, you can absolutely buy both and should if you want to see everything.

Question: When will the schedule of the matches on both days be available? I want to be sure to see my university's team play!
Answer: The schedule will be posted as soon as final registration closes and playing pools are selected, which will take place by November 1st at the latest. Each team will have a guaranteed 3 games on Saturday and 1 game on Sunday, additional games will be based on whether or not they advance to single-elimination rounds.

Question: suggestions on where to stay if coming from out of town, like hotels and stuff close enough to use subway to get to ferry I have not ever stayed in or been in the city.
Answer: We have a fan hotel package that includes a bus ride to and from the fields. Check it out here: http://www.allaboutgrouptravel.com/iqasignupfans.html

Question: The water taxi tickets only state nov 12th, will they be good for sunday also?
Answer: The water taxi ticket is good for just one day, but it can be used for either day. If you want to use the water taxi both days, you need to buy two tickets.

Question: Can I buy tickets at the event or do I need to buy them in advance?
Answer: You can buy tickets day-of, but they will be slightly more expensive at the door.

Question: The time on the tickets for the Saturday pass says 10am. Does this mean I can't see the opening ceremony?
Answer: That's when the games start. You can definitely see the opening ceremony, in fact we hope that lots of people come! It will be in Icahn Stadium. More info will be published closer to the date.

Question: Is the World Cup played on Randall's Island every year?
Answer: No. This is the fifth World Cup. The first three were held at Middlebury College in Vermont. The fourth was held in New York City at Dewitt Clinton Park at 52nd street in Manhattan. This is our first time at Randall's Island and we are very excited about it.

Question: If we buy VIP passes, do we /have/ to sit in the reserved seating? I want to be able to sit with my friends who can't afford the VIP passes and won't be able to sit in that section, so I was just wondering. Also, can you give any details on the advantages of the 'VIP Areas' in case I won't be able to use the seats? Just want to know what I'm getting. Thanks. :)
Answer: You can sit wherever you want with VIP tickets. We will be providing more details about other VIP perks soon.

Question: Do volunteers get access to the VIP areas?
Answer: Volunteers will not have access to the VIP area unless they are working in it.

Question: How is the parking situation on Randalls Island? May we drive directly onto island?
Answer: Yes, you may drive directly on to the island and parking will be available immediately adjacent to the event site. Prices will be roughly $10 - 15 per day.

Question: With tickets for the Finals, will I be able to attend games before then? Or will I have to purchase another pass?
Answer: You will have to purchase another pass. The Sunday pass for access to all of the games before finals on Sunday is just $9.99.

Question: I want to go see Harry and The Potters while I'm there, but it says on the website that the addmission is $5-20. Does this still apply if we have VIP tickets?
Answer: If you have VIP tickets, you can see everything. All games, including championships, and all musical performances.

Answer: If you have VIP tickets, you can see everything. All games, including championships, and all musical performances.

Question: Do we have to buy the food?
Answer: Yes, food will not be for free. We will be posting the menu online soon.

Question: What's the difference between Division 1 and division 2?
Answer: In the IQA, teams self-select into divisions. Division 1 teams tend to be more experienced and more competitive, D2 teams are in it for the fun, but all of them are entertaining and often downright thrilling to watch.

Question: What day is the champion ship on and what are the times?
Answer: The championship match is on Sunday, November 13, in Icahn Stadium. It is part of the finals, which include an alumni all-star game, D1 semi-finals, D2 championships, and D1 championships. This will all last roughly three hours and starts at 6 PM, doors open at 5 PM (the stadium has a separate entrance from the rest of the event and is therefore ticketed separately).

Question: If I bring my dogs can they sit with us in the VIP section if those are the tickets we buy? Are there any limits to where the dogs can go?
Answer: It is a public park so dogs are allowed. We will put your VIP seat on an aisle so your dog can sit next to you. Just make sure they don't run on to the field and start chasing the snitch! FYI your dog might not be allowed in Icahn Stadium....we are looking into that right now.

Question: I plan to attend on Sunday and bought a Sunday pass and a Championships ticket. The tickets are labelled correctly, but both tickets say November 12 , 10 a.m.. Sunday is November 13. Will there be any problem using these tickets on Sunday?
Answer: No, you'll be fine, as long as it says "sunday" and/or lists the sunday price (we set all of the tickets to have unique prices).

Question: What's the refund policy?
Answer: You get a refund if the event is canceled. If you bought a ticket and do not wish to attend any longer, please email worldcup@internationalquidditch.org and an IQA rep will discuss the details with you.

Question: Is the site(s) Handicapped Accessible?
Answer: Yes. Including the stadium.

Question: When does the water taxi start running each day? Is the time on the ticket the time for the taxi we will be on?
Answer: We will need to assess ticket volume first, and then talk to the Water Taxi company over the next two weeks to set up a schedule. It will be posted on the World Cup website the week of the event, but rest assured that there will be at least several optional departure and arrival times each day.

Question: are we allowed to bring our own chairs
Answer: Yes, you may bring your own chair, but you should know that each of the nine fields on the main event site will have 300 chairs and 250 bleacher seats. VIPs can reserve seats on each field in advance once the schedule is posted. The stadium for finals of course seats 4,500.

Question: is water taxi the only way to get to the games
Answer: No, there are a variety of ways to get to Randall's Island. Go to RISF.org for more info.

Question: is there parking at the games
Answer: Yes. It will be $10-15 per day. VIP passes include free parking.

Question: What about players? Will players in the cup automatically have access to the finals or just saturday/sunday matches?
Answer: Players must purchase a finals pass but there is a password so they get a discount. They should email their captain to get the password.

Question: I have VIP tickets and I'm coming from out of town, what's the latest I can show up on Saturday?
Answer: Games will run until 8 or 9 PM (final schedule will be announced shortly) so really whenever you want. VIP's will have the closest parking and also free parking.

Question: Do players/teams get access to these VIP areas?
Answer: Players and teams do not get access to VIP areas.

Question: I bought VIP tickets for my daughters only to discover my college age daughter may have rehearsal during the same weekend. Can I bring my 14year old to the match & then trade off with my dancing college daughter when rehearsal is finished?
Answer: Yes, you can trade off. You'll be given a lanyard at VIP check-in. When your first daughter leaves, hold on to her lanyard and give it to your other daughter when she arrives.

Question: Can we stay overnight in an RV on Randall's island?
Answer: It is against parks department rules for persons to stay overnight on Randall's Island.

Question: I signed up to volunteer over a month ago and never heard word. What is going on with that?

Question: wat time do the games start on saturday? sunday?

Question: Are we allowed to bring food and drinks into the stadium?
Answer: No, but food and drinks will be for sale.

Question: I want to bring a group of 15-20 college students to the Quidditch World Cup. Is there any way we can get a discount. What is the price for a one day ticket?
Answer: With a group that big, we can definitely give you a discount. Please email worldcup@internationalquidditch.org

Question: I bought the championship tickets, and was wondering if I'll have access to the vendors who sell wands and brooms, or do I still need a Sunday pass?
Answer: If they are not all sold out by then already, we will be offering them at the IQA merchandise booth just inside the stadium near the entrance.

Question: I bought a 2 day pass but found out my friend that I put the name on the ticket for can't come. What do I do if I want to bring someone else?
Answer: Is the ticket under Will Call? If so, just tell your friend to give the other friend's name when they come to pick it up.
