Pamela Z's SoundWORK Summer 2011
Pamela Z's sound and performance workshop exploring experimental music, audio art, and interdisciplinary performance practices will take place in the last two weeks of August 2011.
Tuition: $250 You may pay the entire tuition or make a $100 deposit to hold a space. Or you can contact the instructor to make arrangements to pay by check.
Participants explore experimental composition techniques, and the work and ideas of new music composers and sound art practitioners, receive hands-on instruction with tools (software, hardware etc.) and techniques for the creation of sound and performance works.
Workshops include group meetings and sign-up time for private consultation, (plus additional Skype or phone consultation as needed). At the end, the group convenes for an afternoon of discussion and to present their new works in a salon settting.
The technical aspects of the course are designed with audio novices in mind, so you don't have to feel intimidated if you have limited or no experience working with audio.
The group sessions will meet twice a week:
Wednesday, August 17, 6pm -9pm Sunday, August 20, 1pm-4pm Wednesday, August 24, 6pm -9pm Sunday, August 28, 1pm-4pm
Plus each participant will be able to sign up for up to 2 hours of private consultation time to occur within the two weeks of the workshop.
(Schedule subject to adjustments with the consent of registered participants.)
This installment of SoundWORK is co-sponsored by NEXMAP Media Workshop Series
