SHANGHAI GLAMOUR
The Shanghai Glamour fundraiser kicks-off with performance art by New York-based, Taiwanese artist Chin Chih Yang. Premiering in Florida "Love for Japan from U.S.," 100 heart-shaped memorials will be prepared for the evening, a symbol of those still missing after the earthquake and an emblem of solidarity with Japan and its people. A silent auction boasting 23 pieces of import Chinese porcelain donated by Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Tse will take place contemporaneously on-site and online contemporaneously at www.32auctions.com (login: porcelain; password: auction). With items ranging in value from $350 to $6000, ICFAC aims to generate income to sustain a dynamic program year-long; a portion of proceeds will be donated toward Japanese relief efforts. Patrons will be welcomed with complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and may try their luck with the raffle for prizes including art and porcelain. Donation $20. ICFAC is a non-profit organization that works with industry leaders, galleries, artists and diplomats to expose Chinese arts to the United States and abroad. Helmed by Suen an advocate for traditional and modern interpretations of Chinese art ICFAC's mission is to bridge the vast cultural gaps within and outside the Chinese community through a creative, exploratory lens.
