Fern is a spunky agoraphobic who is perfectly happy watching the world go by as she waits for a sign from God telling her to throw open her screen door. While taking care of a sister in the midst of an identity crisis and listening to the never-ending horror stories of her wacky best friend, Fern finally meets her new neighbor with the loud golf pants. He needs a favor from her, but it's Fern who receives a surprise gift of some real insight into the human heart.
