SHORT FILM SHOWCASE I
ALBERT! Or, My Life in the Ocean A psychological-realist film set in the early 1960's American Midwest about a thirteen year old boy whose dream is to run away to California and surf. A film about love and abandonment, escapism and surrender.
PACKRAT POET LAMONT B. STEPTOE is a poet, photographer, journalist, and activist based in Philadelphia. His collection of poems, "A Long Movie of Shadows," was awarded a 2005 American Book Award. He was a Combat Army Sergeant in Vietnam and was decorated with the Bronze Star.
KATRINA'S SON After losing his grandmother during Hurricane Katrina, a young boy travels to San Antonio, TX to find his mother, who abandoned him years earlier.
I WANT YOU The film charts the emotional compass of young love as Lennox Jones, an aspiring novelist, meets and falls for Baldwin Wright, a charismatic musician on the rise. A whimsical romance ensues, but falls short when high expectations meet discontent. Eventually, time apart forces them to decide whether or not their love was meant to last.
