Question: CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FOOD?
Answer: No. In order to protect our delicate living collections, we do not allow outside food or picnicking in the Garden.

Question: I work at the MET Museum, do I get a free entrance for the sakura Matsuri event? Thanks
Answer: You get free entrance on all non-festival days, but not for Sakura Matsuri, Chile Pepper Fiesta and Ghouls & Gourds. Sorry!
 
Question: We have been bring in bento boxes and other food past several years. Also, sake and Japanese beer were available in the garden. Is alcohol allowed this year? Is there group ticket and group discount?
Answer: We do not allow outside food into the Garden, so you cannot bring bento boxes or other food. Japanese beer and food will be available, but no group tickets or discounts. Thank you!

Answer: Yes! See the full schedule of events on our website at www.bbg.org/sakura. There are a few different cosplay opportunities.
 
Question: Is there anywhere, where we can purchase the tickets or do we just have to do it online? And can we pay at the entrance?
Answer: Tickets can be purchased at the entrance on the day of the festival, but not in advance. In past years, there have been long lines at the booths on festival days, so we recommend buying your tickets in advance online, if at all possible. You'll spend more time enjoying the festival instead of waiting in line to buy tickets!

Answer: Yes! You can use your guest passes for Sakura Matsuri.

Answer: Yes, you may have to show your valid student ID at the festival entrance, so remember to bring it with you. Looking forward to seeing you at Sakura Matsuri!

Answer: No! If you buy your tickets in advance, you will bypass the lines at our ticket booths. So, you'll be able to spend more time in the festival!

Answer: The Terrace Cafe will be serving a selection of customer favorites (soups, salads, and sandwiches), plus some special Japanese items. Yes, there will be vegan choices. Looking forward to seeing you!

Question: A close family member has offered to pay for my student ticket online. But she's not attending the event, will this make a difference?
Answer: As long as you have the ticket, this won't make a difference. We have no will call for this event, so you have to have the ticket in hand when you come to the Garden.
 
Question: Even if I am a member from the one in the Bronx?
Answer: If you're a member of NYBG, you'll be able to get in to Sakura Matsuri for free without waiting in line. Just show your membership card at the entrance.
 
Question: If I pay for a ticket on the first day of Sakura Matsuri, do I also have to pay for the second day?
Answer: Yes, you have to buy a separate ticket for the second day. We do not offer two-day tickets.
 
Question: Admission is free on Saturdays from 10-12 noon. Does this still apply for this Saturday?

Answer: Unfortunately, there are no group rates for Sakura Matsuri.
