Trailing Colors
How do you wrap your head or heart around 800,000 strangers? Why bother to try? In a big, battered world, is it natural to keep to one's own, or just convenient? What mysteries lie buried under the labels of "Hutu" and "Tutsi," "black" and "white," "hero" and "victim"? Do we have any reasonable grounds for hope? None of these questions will finally be answered in Trailing Colors, a drama of love, loss, and good intentions. But it does have elephants. So there's that.
