VINCENT WOLFE -Divas Are a Boy's Best Friend
Canadian jazz-cabaret crooner and MAC-award nominee*, Vincent Wolfe, returns to New York with his acclaimed show "Divas Are a Boy's Best Friend" a rollicking, emotional, musical roller-coaster ride celebrating the ladies of song who Vincent has known, idolized and/or shared a stage with. This concert is presented as part of Lee Summer's "Just A Piano" Series.
This show features backstage memories and insider anecdotes blending seamlessly with hit tunes and lesser-known gems from the songbooks of Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Melissa Manchester, Jean Carn, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Rita Coolidge, Marlena Shaw, Bette Midler, Brenda Russell, Julie Wilson and the incomparable late Phyllis Hyman. The show also features sensational pianist Mark Kieswetter.
Wolfe, whose velvety voice has been described as "somewhere between Chet Baker and Mel Tormé" has been a favorite on the Canadian music scene for the past dozen years, and he has also toured the club and festival circuit in Canada, Stateside and in select European cities. His warm stage presence, eclectic repertoire and love of audiences have inspired several top Canadian and U.S. entertainment columnists to dub Wolfe "Canada's next star-in-waiting!" For the last two years, Wolfe has been touring his cabaret act around the world on Cunard's legendary ocean liners the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. Vincent's recently released third CD entitled "Weaver of Dreams" is garnering raves from fans and critics alike and will be available at the Triad performance. *2008 Best Cabaret Debut
