Vagina Monologues
The Women of Color Collective (WOCC) is proud to present the FIRST Vagina Monologues at Boalt Hall!
Come watch our law professors, staff, and fellow Boalties celebrate their vaginas, and join the global movement to end violence against women and girls.
Proceeds will benefit the Lyon-Martin Health Services, the Women of Color Collective, and the 2011 V-Day Spotlight Campaign on the Women and Girls of Haiti.
The Lyon-Martin Health Services is the only free-standing community clinic in California that serves women and transgender people in a place sensitive to sexual and gender identity, regardless of one's ability to pay. The clinic is in desperate need of funds to avoid closure. Please visit http://www.lyon-martin.org/ to donate directly!
The Women of Color Collective (WOCC) provides a supportive space for African American, Asian & Pacific Islander American, Latina, Native American, and other women and trans people of color at Berkeley Law. Through cultural, social, professional, educational and community service programs, the WOCC will advance the needs of women and trans people of color, thereby enriching the educational experience at Berkeley Law.
The V-Day Spotlight Campaign will raise funds to ensure lasting impact on the ground, supporting the revolutionary V-Day programwhich will establish three safe houses - each with an office of legal assistance for survivors of violence - in Cap Haitien, Fort Liberte, and Port de Paix respectively. In addition, the campaign is working towards the construction of four legal assistance offices in Port-au-Prince in the Bois de Bouquet, Delmas, Gressier, and Canape Vert areas, and will provide advocacy support for 19 community based organizations throughout the country doing anti-violence work.
