Beer Tasting for Dads

"Beer Tasting for Dads" will be held on Fathers' Day, Sunday June 21, from Noon to 3pm. This celebration of fatherhood features train rides, activities for the whole family, and beer tasting aboard a 100-year old parlor-observation car.

A special event ticket will get Dads a souvenir pint glass and a sampling of 4 different beers from Woodland's Decompression Rx Brewing and 4C's Brewing.

Non-tasters, kids, and Dads in between pours can engage in a scavenger hunt, activities, streetcar rides every half hour, or an hour-long 11-mile interurban train ride at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM, or 3:30 PM. Docents describe local sights and railroad history on every trip.

Visitors can also experience the Traction Labs interactive energy and transportation exhibit, tour the Car House (where 25 life-size antique electric rail cars are preserved), picnic under large shade trees in spacious Laflin Park, and shop in the Museum store.

Museum general admission is just $10 for adults, $$9 for seniors, and 7 for kids. A $20 special event ticket (which includes Museum general admission) is required for Beer Tasting for Dads.

(Current Museum members need only buy a tasting ticket at the special member rate of $10.)
