VDAY: The Vagina Monologues Roanoke Island
The 2011 performances of 'The Vagina Monologues', directed by Vagina Warrior Gail F. Hutchison, will benifit the Women and Girls of Haiti as well as local organizations that work with Women and Girls. The doors open at 6pm, with food and beverages available. Additionally, there will local artists and organizations Marketplace...a portion of all sales goes to VDAY Haiti and Dare County women and girls groups. The performance will begin at 7:30pm sharp. V-Day is a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sex slavery.
