St. Louis Indie Bookstore Cruise
On Saturday, May 7, (10am 6pm), the St. Louis Indie Bookstore Cruise will begin at Pudd'nhead Books (37 S. Old Orchard Ave.) where Curtis Sittenfeld, Ridley Pearson and Amy Sklansky will visit with our guests. Then we'll travel by bus, to Left Bank Books, where author Catherine Rankovic will discuss her new book "Meet Me: Writers in St. Louis." Guests will have lunch at Duff's Restaurant with authors featured in the book, then on to Subterranean Books where authors Scott Phillips and Tim Lane will be on hand, and will finish the cruise with an appearance at Main Street Books by Susan McBride, Eileen Dreyer and Angie Fox before returning to port. Each stop will include visits with authors, refreshments, give-aways, and other happenings. While en route, passengers will discover some of the literary history of St. Louis's bookstores, as well as book readings of selected passages. Tickets are $35 and include a ticket and lunch at Duff's.
