The Great Seattle Vegan Chili Cook-Off
This event is SOLD OUT! But don't fret, there will be more vegan cook-offs in the future. Look for a BBQ contest, bake off, and raw food competition - all leading up to a Vegan Iron Chef in Seattle. _________________
Come out for a great evening packed with amazing chili dishes made with love by people all around the greater Seattle area. DJ Pelvis will set the party mood with 60's mod, psych, garage, yé-yé, proto-punk, freakbeat, funk, fuzz, and Farfisa. Spicy and sweet corn breads are part of the deal too! Additional concessions available as well. Raw and gluten-free tastings in effect.
This event is co-sponsored by Seattle Vegan Score, Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN), Earth Residents United, Action for Animals (AFA), the Seattle Animal Defense League (ADL), and Green Vegans. 100% of profits from this event will be used to put on Seattle's first Vegan Iron Chef competition scheduled for late 2012. NW Veg Scene Rules!
Tickets: $10 for general admission. $7 for students. FREE for kids under 12.
The chili cooks who win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will get prizes generously donated by mega rad vegan-friendly companies including: Thrive, Kandice Kelly, Vegan Aesthetics, Herbivore, Vegan Dish, Lion's Share Industries, music from Jason Parker Jazz Quartet and Derelict, Healeo, Vegetarians of WA, Remedy Teas, The Crue Cart, Pizza Pi, and Sidecar.
Getting there: The Mount Baker Club is just 6 blocks from the McClellen Light Rail stop and is right on the #14 bus line which comes from downtown every 30 minutes on Sundays (http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/bus/schedules/s014_2_.html). You can also drive, there is free street parking in the neighborhood.
