This 24-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist aims straight for the gut with emotive, rocking songs about the challenges of adult life. USA Today recently compared his "exquisite tenor" to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel, while Livingston Taylor called him the "greatest pop songwriter since Billy Joel." Despite his relatively young age Glier is a seasoned troubadour, averaging over 250 live performances annually. He's known for passionate live sets and a powerful command of both piano and guitar. Building on the acclaim of his Grammy-nominated sophomore album "The Next Right Thing", Glier's subsequent record "Things I Should Let You Know" was called "a genuine revelation" by Blurt Magazine, and was praised for its "shimmering, seductive melodies". His brand new album, "If I Could Change One Thing," was produced Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Radin, Dashboard Confessional) and reflects a turn toward genuine modern pop. Seth will be accompanied by Joe Nerny on saxophone and harmonica.
OPENING SET: The Brooklyn-based, Berkeley-raised piano-violin duo Gracie and Rachel combines classical strings with haunting, fierce vocals and spare percussion. They find beauty in stark simplicity and breathe a hint of the abstract into highly emotive, evolved songs. Their forthcoming debut album "Go" provides a heartfelt glimpse into two artists' intertwined lives. From the pit of despair to the summit of success, Gracie and Rachel are always headed somewhere new.
