There's only one thing better than drinking beer in a brewery, and that is eating dinner in a brewery. Tonight, join Rockaway Brewing Company and Long Island City's Rèst-âü-Ránt for their first-ever progressive beer-pairing dinner. Typically, a progressive dinner features diners traveling to different locales for each dish. We're going to do the same - just inside Rockaway's typically off-limits nooks, crannies and hidden rooms. Upon arriving, attendees - just 30, as tickets are extremely limited - will receive welcome beers and meet the evening's host, The Complete Beer Course author Joshua M. Bernstein. We'll mingle in the tasting room for passed appetizers and plenty of beer, before repairing to the secret event room upstairs for dinner: beer-can chicken sandwiches, beer-infused mac 'n' cheese and, well, beer. Finally, we'll venture inside the heart of Rockaway's brewhouse for dessert of the decadent, chocolate-drenched variety. As a bonus treat, Rockaway brewers will be on hand to answer any and all questions as they brew a batch of beer on their experimental pilot system. This might just be Queens Beer Week's most deliciously educational event.
