A night of Flamenco featuring singer, Vicente Griego, "El Cartucho", guitarist Juan Antonio Gomez, as well as dancers Adriana Maresma-Fois and Savannah Fuentes. Only 60 tickets available Vicente Griego "El Cartucho" from Dixon/Embudo, New Mexico has devoted his life to the study of cante flamenco, the art of flamenco singing. In 1992, Vicente began touring the US, Canada and Latin America, with the Jose Greco II Flamenco Dance Company, where he was mentored by Caño Roto singer, Alfonso "Veneno" of Madrid, Spain. Vicente remains a pupil of acclaimed guitarist, Chuscales and continues to accompany internationally renowned companies such as; Yjastros, Juan Siddi Flamenco Company, Carola Zertuche's Teatro Flamenco, Martinez' Pueblo Viejo, Fanny Ara, Jesus Montoya y Pureza Flamenca and Encuentro, to name a few. JUAN ANTONIO GÓMEZ Born in Cádiz, Spain, 1973. He began studying the flamenco guitar at nine years of age, and performed in his first international tour at age eleven with the group, Gaditano Raiz, in France.This was the beginning of many professional opportunities with great flamenco artists and companies, touring throughout Europe, South America and North America. Juan has played for wonderful cantaores, singers, such as: Enrique El Extremeño, Segundo Falcon, Mariana Cornejo, Capullo de Jerez, Jose Mendez, among others. In 2000, during the Festival de Flamenco de Jerez, he realized a huge dream working with the great bailaor, dancer, Joaquin Grilo, in the production of "Jacara", that later toured for one year throughout Spain. This same year he also collaborated with the internationally known dancer, Javier Baron. From 2001-present, Juan has been first guitarist and composer for the company, Flamencos Enroute, based in Switzerland, that performs in theatres throught Europe. In the production, "Caprichos Flamencos", he collaborated with Pablo Garcia, from Madrid, for the work of well-known choreographer, Joaquin Ruiz. Recently,2010, Juan has participated as one of the guitarists for Antonio El Pipa, traveling throughtout Spain and Europe with the show, "De Tablao".He as well was accompanying classes for Belen Cavanes and performing with Maria Jose Franco in, " De Grana y Oro", in the Festival de Flamenco de Jerez, 2007
ADRIANA MARESMA FOIS: bailaora, choreographer, instructor " Adriana Maresma Fois' insides are on fire; she fights with intensity and uninhibited vehemence." Neue Luzerner Newspaper, Switzerland. Adriana's unique fire and elegance are what have marked her style and personality as a world class flamenco dancer. Her impassioned performances and choreographies have conquered stages throughout North and South America, Asia and Europe including New York City's Metropolitan Opera, Lisboa's Gran Casino, Vancouver's Flamenco Festival, Jacob's Pillow, Andalucia Directo Television (Spain), Milan's Teatro Litta (Italy), and Zurich Teatrehaus. She has been a soloist for the company Flamencos Enroute, based in Switzerland, for the last eight years, and has co-founded her own company, El Amor Brujo, based in Italy. Adriana's vast professional experience has given her the opportunity to work with celebrated artists including María Benítez, Susana DiPalma, Joaquín Ruíz, Plácido Domingo, Carmen Linares, José Greco, Angel Muñoz, The Boston Pops, Enrique El Extremeño, Antonio " El Pipa", and more. As choreographer, Adriana's piece, " La Puerta de Mi Sangre" claimed First Prize and Best Stylization in the International Dance Festival in Bento, Brazil. Adriana received her Bachelors Degree in Photography and Dance from the University of New Mexico. She has continued growing as a professional studying in Madrid, Sevilla and Jerez (where she resides now over 10 years Savannah Fuentes discovered Flamenco in Seattle with dancer, Ana Montes. She continued her studies in Madrid at the famed Amor de Dios school with teachers such as La Tati, Cristobal Reyes, and Belen Maya. Upon return to Seattle, Savannah began her studies with Maestra Sara de luis. Sara has blessed Savannah with years of expert training and advice. Other notable teachers include Antonia Rojas, Timo Lozano, Joaquin Grilo, and Oscar Nieto.
