FREE Bellevue College Community Planetarium Show: Violent Universe
NEW PLANETARIUM SHOW DATES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED FOR SPRING 2011. VISIT http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/167161 FOR TICKETING INFORMATION!
Please note that the final shows for Winter Quarter will be on March 4, 2011 and NOT March 18 as originally announced. Tickets for the March 4 show will be available at 12:01 am on February 25.
Join us in the Willard Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College to view the show "Violent Universe: Catastrophes of the Cosmos," and stay to take a brief tour of the night sky using our state-of-the-art Digistar 3 planetarium projector. Each show will last approximately 40 minutes.
Although these shows are free, you MUST reserve tickets through this site. Tickets will be available on this site one week prior to each show.
A description of "Violent Universe: Catastrophes of the Cosmos" can be found at http://www.es.com/products/digital_theater/shows/ViolentUniverse/.
This show is not appropriate for kids under the age of six. No food or drink is allowed in the planetarium. Because the room is dark during the show, there is no late admission.
The Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College is the only community college planetarium in Washington state. The planetarium's Digistar 3 projector can accurately reproduce the night sky any time of the year or night at any location within 900 light years of the Sun. It can show the stars position in three dimensions, and allow realistic journeys through space.
Free community planetarium shows at the Geer Planetarium are sponsored by the Science and Math Institute at Bellevue College.

Q&A
Question: |
Hi,
Do I need to reserve a ticket to see tonight's free violent universe show?
|
Answer: |
Yes, you will need to reserve tickets to attend a showing. Unfortunately, all tickets for tonight's planetarium shows are sold out. We will be offering additional shows on Feb. 11 and March 4. Tickets for those shows will be available on Brown Paper tickets one week prior to the date of the shows. |
|
Question: |
I want to ask what is the earliest time you can reserve a ticket online to see this show. I was informed you could get free tickets one week in advance for the Feb. 11th show, but it looks like these tickets are already gone. I am interested in the next show (March 18th) if Feb 11th tickets are no longer available. |
Answer: |
You are correct, tickets can be reserved here on Brown Paper Tickets one week in advance of each showing. Tickets for the Feb. 11th were available starting at midnight and the shows sold out in less than 12 hours! Please be aware that the next show will be on March 4, not March 18th as originally announced. Tickets for those shows will be available starting at midnight on February 25. |

I saw that there are no tickets available for the Feb 11th show (Violent Universe). How many free tickets are available for the next show on March 18th. Thanks for your assistance. |

|
Question: |
How many tickets may I reserve, i.e., how many people can I take with me to this event? |
Answer: |
There is a limit of 6 tickets per reservation. |
|
Question: |
I am trying to reserve 4 tickets for the March 4th show but can't see a link to reserve. |
Answer: |
All of the tickets for the March 4 shows have been reserved. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
|
Question: |
for future reference, how DO you reserve tickets? |
Answer: |
Tickets can be reserved here at brownpapertickets.com one week before each show. There has been a huge interest in the shows, and they have sold out within a matter of minutes each time that we have hosted them. This morning, there was a glitch online that made it look like the tickets were not yet available when in fact they were already sold out. We apologize for the inconvenience. You are welcome to come to the BC campus on March 4 and put yourself on the waitlist in the case of "no shows". On Feb.12, everyone who showed up early and put their names on the waitlist was able to see a show. Alternatively, additional free shows will be scheduled for Spring Quarter. Check the SAMI website for updates. |
