Berkeley High School African American Studies Spring Extravaganza - "Freedom"
Berkeley High School African American Studies Department continues the tradition of its spring dance concert by presenting an inspirational, high powered, non-stop performance by it's dance students and guests. The evening is sure to delight, surprise, and engage the audience with performance of traditional African, Aztec, Haitian, Mexican, Ethiopian and Nepali dance forms as well as more contemporary fare of modern, hip hop, praise dances and spoken word. With pieces choreographed by both teachers and students, this is certainly not a performance to miss! Support the arts and Berkeley High students as they breathe life into dance both ancient and modern, and bring insights into who they are and some of the journeys and challenges they have embarked on and been confronted with this year.
Come see the semi-professional performance of over 200 students in the 3500 seat Berkeley Community Theater on May 15, 2015 at 7PM.
