The well-travelled world-class Irish trio Open the Door for Three will bring their music to the Hooker-Dunham Theater on May 1st, 2015 for a concert after the First Friday Artwalk in Brattleboro, VT. Open the Door for Three is fiddle player Liz Knowles and piper Kieran O'Hare, new transplants to Portland, Maine, along with Chicago-based Dublin singer and bouzouki player Pat Broaders. They are mainstays of the Irish music scene around the world and have distinguished themselves over the last two decades as soloists with Riverdance, Cherish the Ladies, Secret Garden, AnĂșna, and The New York Pops, as well as with mainstream pop-artists Don Henley, Bobby McFerrin, Paula Cole, Bonnie Raitt, and Josh Groban.
The concert will feature music from their latest album 'Open the Door for Three' arranged during a four-year tour with Celtic Legends that performed to hundreds of thousands of people across Europe, China, and South America as well as a sneak-peek at material from their forthcoming second album, due out this summer.
Open the Door for Three's music is a rare combination of unearthed melodies from old books dating back to the 1700s, newly composed tunes, new arrangements of great old songs, homages to the musicians and bands they grew up listening to, and the signature sound of a trio of good friends playing great music together. Liz, Kieran, and Pat each have a unique relationship to Irish music which only makes for a more colorful story to tell as a trio a story they will tell with music, stories, song, and of course, a fair bit of humor!
