Date: Saturday, July 25th Time: 12pm to 6pm Admission: $250 Location: Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 Third Avenue, 11215 Brooklyn NY
This class will introduce students basic small mammal taxidermy. Each student is provided with their own specimen, which they will skin, flesh, prep, mount, and groom. We will go through the process of carving busts for each mount and will discuss other viable options for outside of class. Everything is supplied and students do not need any prior experience for this class. Each student will leave with their own finished piece.
No harsh chemicals are used in class. Gloves are provided. All animals are disease/mite free. Its a long day, bring a snack!
Animals are sourced through roadkill, scraps from other taxidermists, donations, abatement/nuisance work, pet industry casualties, frozen feeders, and discards from the food service industry.
