"Winterlude" with Coastal Winds
Miranda Kincaid: bassoon, Jeff Chan: clarinet, Daniel Celi-dore: oboe, Valerie White: flute, Paul Hadley: horn, Alice Chan: piano, Phoebe Craig: harpsichord, and Paul Hale: cello, joined by countertenor Christopher Fritzsche in a benefit concert celebrating winter.
The Program:
Miranda Kincaid (bassoon), Jeff Chan (clarinet), and myself (oboe) , will perform the playful Divertissement, a trio for winds by Jean Francaix.
Valerie White (flute), Paul Hadley (horn), and Alice Chan (piano), will perform a lovely Pastorale and Dance from the lyrical trio for flute, horn, and piano by Eric Ewazen.
Chrisopher Fritzsche (countertenor), Phoebe Craig (harpsichord), and Paul Hale (Cello), will perform two Cantatas by the the French composer, Campra.
Following Intermission, all five wind players together with Alice Chan on piano will perform the Sextet for Winds and Piano by Gordon Jacob, a poignant piece written in memory of Dennis Brain, the horn player.
