Roots Hoot House Concerts presents the best under the radar music event in R.I., the 8th annual Swamp Stomp outdoor music festival on Saturday, August 1 featuring:
THE SADIES (Toronto, ON) STEVE WYNN & The MIRACLE 3 (New York, NY) CAROLINE ROSE (Burlington, VT) THE SILKS (Providence, RI)
The event will take place once again in West Kingston, R.I. near the entrance to The Great Swamp. This is the same event which in its previous years has brought the likes of Lydia Loveless, Ha Ha Tonka, JP Harris & the Tough Choices, Valerie June (1st R.I. appearance), Joe Fletcher, Bottle Rockets, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, T-Model Ford, Amy LaVere, Girls Guns & Glory, Smith & Weeden, Toy Soldiers, Patrick Sweany, Cordero, Dollar Store, and Shacklehands to the beautiful and intimate property in the wilds of West Kingston where it has been held since beginning in the summer of 2008. Grounds will open at 1:30 pm on the day of the event with music beginning at 3:00 pm. Pound for pound, SS8 is going to be as heavy a dose of R&R as we've delivered yet. 100 proof good, if you ask us! This year we return two previous headliners. Leading the charge is renowned Canadian rockers THE SADIES who will no doubt deliver their usual mind-blowing tunes and musicianship. As returning is STEVE WYNN& THE MIRACLE 3 headed by the renowned Dream Syndicate front man. Psychedelicized R&R is the band's M.O. and few can match them when in gear. CAROLINE ROSE is a fast-rising talent on the Americana front whose 2014 album received kudos galore from critics. She will be here with her entire band. Rounding things out is R.I.-BASED band THE SILKS who pound-for-pound can match any act on the SS8 bill in chops and boogie. Simply put, this trio never fails to kick ass on the live stage!
Swamp Stomp is an 18-and-over event and please, no pets. It will again be a BYOB/picnic event (i.e., bring whatever you'd like to eat or drink). All we ask is that you carry out whatever you bring in.
