The mission of the Scandal-Less Mother's Day Brunch is to honor women who make things happen in the workplace and on the home front. We call these women, "gladiator" moms.
Last year, over 125 women came out to honor Shaunie O'Neal,
(Creator of VH-1's Basketball Wives) and Brenda Doby- Flewellyn, (FilmBankers Int'l). Guests enjoyed unlimited food and drinks, mini manicures, massages, and overstuffed swag bags. This year's brunch will take place Saturday, May 9th at On the Thirty Restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California.
This year we will honor 2 more amazing women, First Lady Togetta Ulmer and Simone I. Smith.
First Lady Togetta Ulmer has been with Faithful Central Bible Church for more than thirty-three years under the leadership of her husband, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer. Lady Togetta is the leader of the Minister's Wives Ministry. She was also co-leader of the Rev. Sister and the Chosen Woman Conferences. Currently, First Lady Togetta Ulmer is teaching Champion Bible Study Classes at FCBC. For more information check out www.faitfulcentral.com
Simone I. Smith, wife of LL Cool J, mother of four and entrepreneur is an amazing example of "gladiator" mom. In addition to her jewelry line (SIS), Simone is active with her husband's busy career as well as philanthropic ventures. As a cancer survivor, she sees to it that part of the proceeds from SIS goes to benefit organizations that are committed to the ongoing fight against cancer. For her efforts, she earned 2013's Rising Star of the Year Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners of Los Angeles and will be honored by the faith-based non-profit, LadyLike Foundation, this year.
