Gidion's Knot
A note is sent home with Gidion after he is suspended from school. His mother is to attend a parent/teacher conference but she doesn't know why or what Gidion's done. Only his teacher has the answers, but does she have the right to judge Gidion because of something he wrote? Neither mom or teacher are prepared for the consequences.
Gidion's Knot is a play about responsibility, freedom of expression, school yard bullying and budding sexuality. While the subject matter is about primary school, the material in the play is very adult and this play is not recommended for children under the age of 13.
"resonant[a] particularly eloquent study of people caught between the competing demands of reason, morality and family harrowing a narrative that is as elegant as it is chilling." Washington Post.
"heart-stopping the show has pathos and suspense in bucket loads. Within a lean 80 minutes, the show raises profound questions about parenting and education and documents the gut-wrenching force of maternal loyalty." Washingtonian.
"GIDION'S KNOT is as sad as life itself, and as funny and startling as well a beautiful, disturbing story." DCTheatreScene.com.
