Earth Day Soiree
"Creating a Regenerative Economy"
An evening, lecture and discussion with Hunter Lovins. Appetizer and aperitifs will be served. A silent auction will held to raise funds for social action.
We are learning every day, with increasing urgency, the fateful direction of our Earth's course if we do not change our behavior. And we continue to ask the same question: But what can I possibly do? How can I make a difference?
How can one community, let alone one person...change the course of Global destruction! Our featured speaker at the Earth Day Soiree, Hunter Lovins, believes there needs to be a complete "Regeneration"...a spiritual or moral "rebirth"from our old ways. As a "green business" expert, she will help us understand how everyone, and all things from Oceans to Ice Caps, from forests to farm lands...can benefit from a Regenerative economy.
Named by Time Magazine, "Millenium Hero of the Planet", Hunter has addressed the US Congress; the World Economic Forum; and the United Nations Development Program. She has preached at the Cathedral Church of St John the Divine, New York, Epiphany service; appeared on NOVA, "Poison in the Rockies"; 60 Minutes; and Bill Moyers' NOW, as well as hundreds of college symposia.
Hunter is President of Natural Capitalism of Colorado,a non-profit organization that educates decision-makers in the business case for a Regenerative Economy.
Trained as a sociologist and lawyer (JD), Hunter is professor of Sustainable Business Management at Bard College and The University of Denver. She has authored 14 books, most recently, "Climate Capitalism in the Age of Climate Change"(2011).
