Mike Greensill and His Divas: Wesla Whitfield, Kellie Fuller and Suzi Gilbert
In their long career together, husband-and-wife team Mike Greensill (piano) and Wesla Whitfield (vocals) have performed in cabarets and halls nationwide. They will be joined at this intimate afternoon concert by local songsters Kellie Fuller and Suzi Gilbert in a program encompassing jazz, blues and standards from the American songbook. In addition to accompanying his "divas" in solo numbers, Mike will lead them in a number of duets drawing on their individual charms.
Schooled in the Napa Valley, Kellie Fuller has demonstrated her vocal range from opera to R&B, from jazz to Broadway. She has opened for the Manhattan Transfer and has performed at the Sausalito Art Festival. Wesla describes Kellie as "a glorious voice and a captivating entertainer."
Though born in Chicago and raised in New Hampshire and Detroit, Suzi Glibert has made the Napa Valley her home for more than 30 years, and her singing style also moves easily between blues to pop and folk music. Her CD, "Spice of Life," released in 2007, exhibits the broad spectrum of her vocal talents.
Mike Greensill and Wesla Whitfield have appeared from coast to coast, including at the White House and at Carnegie Hall, and have recorded 20 albums in their decades-long partnership. Their latest CD, "A Message From the Man in the Moon" (on their own label, Pismo Productions) features Mike playing solo piano in a collection of duets with his wife on vocals.
Complimentary wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be served at intermission.
