Growing Home: Agriculture in the City
Combining talk and tours, tastings and tools, Growing Home is an all day event to celebrate home gardeners and introduce the Huntington's new urban agricultural station, the Ranch. In the morning, everyone will gather for talks, networking, and lunch. Rosalind Creasy, pioneer of edible landscaping, will give the keynote speech and sign copies of the new edition of her landmark book, Edible Landscaping. In the afternoon, concurrent tracks will focus on soil, organization, animals, food, and touring the new facilities. The day will end with a raffle!
Speakers include a keynote by Rosalind Creasy and speakers from Silverlake Farms, Los Angeles; Homegrown Evolution, Los Angeles; Food Not Lawns, Claremont; Ecoworkshops.com, Topanga; The Huntington Botanical Gardens, San Marino; Metabolic Studio, Los Angeles; Full Circle Gardens, Los Angeles; Backwards Beekeepers, Los Angeles; Little Flower Candy Co., Pasadena; Fallen Fruit, Los Angeles; Sustainable Habitats, Los Angeles; and UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners, Los Angeles.
