Paradise Pinups
Paradise Pinups is a photo party inviting new and experienced models to create stunning, fun images in the ornately tropical setting of Forbidden Island in Alameda, happening Sunday, March 29!

Sign up for a photography package with one of our two in-house photographers, the talented Julia O. Test or the amazing Rockin' Rigatony for $130. (Normal rates are $300 per photo session.)
The Rundown
You get thirty minutes plus of shoot time with one of our two experienced and amicable photographers and two retouched, print-resolution images as well as all your other images to download--just in case you see anything extra that you might want! We're pulling together to do a full event so that models can get shots with experienced, well-known photographers with professional styling for way less than usual.
Hair and Makeup
Skilled hair and makeup artist Tamara Locke is available to twist your hair into powerful victory rolls and alluring curls, give you those perfect eyeliner wings, and otherwise just make you look amazing! Her rate is $100 for a hair and makeup package deal. (Her usual rate is $150, but we're getting a special discount.)
For the Newbies
Thinking of doing your first pinup photoshoot? You should! And you couldn't ask for a better event. If you're more comfortable working with our female photographer, please just let us know! Yes, there may be a cute cabin boy or two running about fetching drinks and powder puffs, but there will be an accepting, helpful, feminine energy. We're all here to accomplish the same goal: getting amazing pics and meeting other locals into tiki culture and pinup photography! As photographer Julia O. Test says on her site:
"Making people feel beautiful is my passion, and my professional but relaxed demeanor makes it easy for anyone to blossom in front of my lens."
We want to help you blossom! In addition to a hair and makeup artist, experienced models will be on hand to help you pose in the most flattering way--and a mai tai or two can't hurt!
What to Bring
Try to pick a look beforehand. Are you going for beach bunny? Cocktail party vixen? Perhaps you'd like to shoot in lingerie or bring a Gil Elvgren image to life.
Bring at least two different outfits. While we will certainly help you with wardrobe if you like, try your outfits on at home and have a good idea of what you would like to wear and why.
Also bring jewelry, hair accessories, shoes, stockings, appropriate lingerie (invest in a strapless bra if you need one!), and any other accessories you might want, like gloves, glasses, special tiki mugs, or hats.
The After Party
It sure would be a shame to waste all the primping and dressing up--so don't! At 3:00, the doors of Forbidden Island open and we would like to invite YOU to invite your friends to a night out. Have a few drinks and tiki the hell out of your Instagram!
