Event
GDFCF Fundraiser Dinner with EO Wilson and Dan Janzen (Oct 1, 2010)
Friday, October 1, 2010, 8pm at UpStairs on the Square, in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA.
Join two of history's great scientist-conservationists for a dinner benefiting Area de Conservacion Guanacaste (ACG), a 163,000-ha tropical treasure in northwestern Costa Rica. Edward O. Wilson and Dan Janzen will be sitting down with attendees to swap stories and share a meal at one of Cambridge's most celebrated dining establishments.
Want to know what it takes to spearhead the world's most ingenious tropical conservation effort? Have a question about ants, Anthill, caterpillars, parataxonomists, agoutis, or tapirs? Simply interested in supporting a great cause amidst great company and great food? Then please join us.
Please note that all tickets ($250, $500, $1000, $4000) are general seating. If you would like to purchase an entire table (9 seats), please email fundraisers@gdfcf.org.
100% of all proceeds go DIRECTLY to the conservation and inventory of biodiversity in the ACG. The event producers take no cut, there is no overhead or bureaucracy to support. Your tax-deductable donation will live on forever.
$250 = 6-7 mature trees. That's more than 0.15 acres of rainforest -- in perpetuity.
$500 = 12-13 mature trees. 0.30 acres that survive for your grandchildren's grandchildren to explore.
$1,000 = 25 mature trees. You are purchasing indefinite existence for 0.6 acres of beautiful, carbon-storing, animal-housing, brain-stimulating rainforest.
$4,000 = 1 hectare. 2.5 acres. 50 mature trees and many, many smaller living things. Forever.
