Saturday, March 21, 7:30 pm Pre-concert talk with Tõnu Kõrvits at 7:00 pm
The Stonewall Chorale, our nation's first gay and lesbian chorus, presents an evening of music from the singing country of Estonia, featuring two of its most esteemed composers.
Arvo Pärt: Berliner Messe Tõnu Kõrvits: Kreek's Notebook
In honor of Arvo Pärt's 80th birthday, we present his Berliner Messe. Originally commissioned in 1990, the work features his famous tintinnabuli technique and is scored for chorus and strings.
Kreek's Notebook is an extraordinary work by Tõnu Kõrvits, one of Estonia's most brilliant young composers. This performance marks the New York City premiere of the full work by Kõrvits, and we are thrilled that the composer will attend the event!
Join us beforehand for a conversation with Mr. Kõrvits, and stay afterward to celebrate Pärt's 80th birthday, with cake and a toast!
Please note that advanced ticket sales close 12 hours before the event. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the show for $30 per ticket, subject to availability.
For a limited time, purchase our "March to Pride" combo ticket, which includes general admission seating to both our March 21st concert and our annual Pride concert. This year's theme is "Pass the Popcorn: The Stonewall Chorale Goes to the Movies," and the concert will be held at Holy Apostles on June 13th at 7:30pm.
