The Montgomery County Educational Foundation presents its Third Annual Benefit Concert and Raffle for Public Schools. The concert will be at the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church at 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Featured performers will include: Nicole Paglialonga, violin, and Jay Crone, piano; The Herzog Trio; Levi Moneyhun, Shelor Motor Mile Talent Show Finalist; the Blacksburg Middle School Bel Canto Choir; the Belview Elementary School Ukelele Club; and the traditional Irish band, Duada, featuring Jim O'Dowd, Sean O'Dowd, and Nevin O'Dowd. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65 & older, and $8 for students and youth under 18 years old. Tickets may be purchased in advance, or at the door one hour prior to the event based on ticket availability. The Montgomery County Educational Foundation (MCEF) is a public non-profit foundation committed to supporting Montgomery County Public Schools. Proceeds from this event will be used to support teachers, students, staff, and school organizations. MCEF provide this support through grants to supplement their funding and by providing funds in areas outside the scope of existing school funds. Examples of prior funding include: after school programs, such as the concert featured Ukelele Club, technology grants, and teacher supplies.
