Event
Denver Does Denver 2010
Hosted at two adjoining venues, Denver Does Denver will be a swinging time of artistic intercourse. Like any form of progressive exchange, boundaries must be constantly re-evaluated, and expanded. During the first Denver Does Denver, Illiterate asked the question of how the many participating musicians would handle the challenge of covering the music of others? Would they honor their fellow performers with heartfelt renditions, or lampoon the competition with karaoke like covers? What transpired was a sonic orgy of Dionysian proportion, with room for both sincerity and satire. Met with an incredible outpouring of support from both musicians and audience member Denver Does Denver's inaugural event received a Best of Denver Award from the city's premiere weekly publication, the Westword. This year, again we pose the question: just how far will each band go, and extend it to the visual newcomers. All will be answered and on display, Saturday August 28 when original content and prudes will be left at the door.
