Program #5 - "Bering" Documentary Feature
"Bering" closely follows a group of people living in the Bering Strait and delves into the fundamental aspects of their daily lives, their survival, and the contrast between their traditions and the modern world. With extraordinary imagery, Bering portrays exceptionally well a community fighting to preserve its culture in this mythical part of the world.
The director, Lourdes Grobet is a contemporary Mexican photographer, best known for her photographs of Mexican Lucha libre wrestlers. Grobet has been a photographer and video artist for more than forty years. Lourdes Grobet worked on pictures of El Santo, one of the most important Mexican wrestlers, and a hero of Lucha libre who starred in more than 50 films.
