Sravasti Abbey operates on the prayers, dedications, volunteerism and donations of not only the local but the international community. As individuals living near the Abbey, we are in a unique position to see what the needs of the residents may be. February 28th at 6 PM the Unitarian Universal Church will host a gathering to invite generosity to benefit the medical needs of the monastics. The night will begin with a Thai dinner followed by a free showing of "Blessings," a documentary about the nuns of Nangchen Nunnery in Tibet. Susan Virnig will MC a discussion on the film afterwards. Come support the monastics, eat great (and healthy) food, learn about lands far away and how the dharma is practiced in other places in the world.
