Bridging Opportunity: Local Chefs and Beginning Organic Farmers Benefit Dinner
The Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA) is a small-farm business incubator helping farm workers and other low-income people to create their own farm businesses.
Chef Colin Moody of Monterey Peninsula Country Club will host a special summertime benefit dinner prepared through partnerships between local chefs and beginning organic farmers at ALBA. Participating chefs include Jeffrey Anderson; William Bennett, Corral de Tierra Country Club; Dory Ford, Aqua Terra Culinary; and Estevan Jimenez, The Restaurant at Ventana. Participating farmers from ALBA include Hector's Organic Farm and La Milpa Farm.
Join us for a farm-fresh meal featuring local, organic foods with regional wine pairings. The event will include farmers presenting their fresh ingredients and family businesses, five courses showcasing locally procured organic foods, unique collaborations among farmers and chefs, and a food-focused silent auction to benefit ALBA's programs.
ALBA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to advance economic viability, social equity and ecological land management among aspiring and limited-resource farmers. A portion of ticket prices is a tax-deductible gift to ALBA.
