choreOBJECTography 2
BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN--choreOBJECTography is a new dance performance series debuting this summer as a platform to provide young choreographers the chance to make work. The second of a three month dance event on June 19th features original works created by the participating artists: Desira Barnes, Margot Bassett, Tess Dworman, Sydnie Mosley, Heather Favretto, Sarah Zitnay and Sam Hough/Keeley Walsh.
Throughout the series, each choreographer has been assigned a set of objects from which the inspiration for their creative process is to originate. The performance unveils the specific ways in which they have engaged the items by creating work to be performed on the rooftop of an artist warehouse in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The views of Manhattan as well as the unique work, that for many of these dance artists is their New York premiere, is not to be missed.
The evening is structured as a social gathering with performances intermixed in a casual and fun environment. Following the dance performance there will be a DJ and dance party. Throughout the evening beverages will be provided and a relaxing evening will be had on the expansive roof top in Bushwick Brooklyn. Doors open at 7:15pm, the show starts at 8:00pm, with the dance party to follow.
