Karkovice - A One-Act Play by Joe Dennison Featuring Mark Squirek
An evening of original theater in one of Baltimore's landmark buildings. Joe Dennison's play, Karkovice, premiered earlier this year at Baltimore's Mobtown Theater. Set inside an artist's studio, this character driven play seemed a natural for Studio 11 at Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, an intimate performing space seating 25. Directed by Susan McCarty with Mark Squirek as Karkovice.
"In this one-character play, a despairing artist delivers a brilliant monologue, where alliterations, puns, incantations, curses, prayers, and shards of memory trace the artist's progressive isolation. Powerfully acted by Mark Squirek, the mesmerizing monologue is illustrated by the artist's painting on originally blank canvases to express his harrowing mood swings" - Baltimore Theatre Journal
