Oak Park Microbrew & Food Review
Seven Generations Ahead and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, in collaboration with the Downtown Oak Park Association, present the 3rd Annual Oak Park Microbrew & Food Review. This fundraising event features tastings of 50 craft beers from 25 midwest microbreweries.
Sample beer from the most skilled craft brewmasters; purchase food from the finest local restaurateurs; groove to the sounds of local bands including The Get, Justice Prevails, and Frosting; see sustainable best practices modeled through the event's Zero Waste component.
Advance tickets are on sale now for $35 each. Tickets sold at the event cost $40. Limited number of tickets available!
Join us for our one hour VIP pre-event!!! This celebration will be held from 1:30-2:30pm at the new "green" Marion Street Cheese Market, 100 S. Marion St. in Oak Park; which is a mere half block away from where the main event is being held. The VIP pre-event provides you exclusive access to mingle and talk shop with head brewers in a more intimate setting, as well as tastings of special microbrews not offered at the main event. There will also be food pairings from Marion Street Cheese Market to compliment the delicious brews on hand. Tickets are $75 and are limited to 50 people. VIP tickets include admission to both the pre-event and Oak Park Microbrew & Food Review, an event t-shirt, and a deluxe limited edition tasting glass.
BONUS: The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild will also debut their 2010 Replicale Project at the Microbrew Review! This exciting annual project features a different beer style each year brewed by 15 or more Illinois brewers to showcase the nuances in brewing technique and system design. This year's style is an American Pale Ale, be sure to taste them all at the ICBG Replicale booth! Please see below for the Breweries participating in this project.
NEW This Year: Zero Waste Believer Promotion! Are you a Zero Waste Believer? Do you compost? Own reusable containers and utensils for your lunch to go? Buy bulk foods instead of individually packaged foods? Always copy on both sides of your paper? The first 25 people to visit the Seven Generations Ahead booth at the Microbrew Review and show us a photo of their zero waste behaviors at home or work will receive a surprise gift!
All proceeds of the Oak Park Microbrew & Food Review benefit Seven Generations Ahead, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the development of healthy, sustainable communities in the Midwest.
Public transportation to this event is not only encouraged, but conveniently located less than a block away. Try the Harlem/Lake stop on the CTA Green Line or the Metra Oak Park stop.
